Day 1 – from San Francisco via Manzanar to Las Vegas

As I wrote yesterday, I drove down to south instead of going directly to Yellowstone N.P. because the big storm covers the area. I might spend a couple of days in San Francisco to wait for the storm gone, but I chose to start as planned and headed Manzanar where I had interested in. Full list of pictures on my Facebook.

This is the driving route on April 29, 2010.

San Francisco – Start

South Lake Tahoe – Saw lake quickly

US-395 South – Couldn’t use iPhone, even GPS wasn’t available

Manzanar National Historic Site – Japanese relocation center. Saw short film. Japanese American had to be here 1942 to 1945. Even after WWII, they were not allowed to be back to Pacific 3 states.

Death Valley – Not enough time. Drove through the park.

Las Vegas – Stayed at Motel 6. $36 includes wifi.

Two things I forgot to bring for this trip:

1. Passport – Probably not necessary, but had to bring in case.

2. Slippers – Need to use at motel room.

Stopped by gas station 4 times today.

On the way to Lake Tahoe.

The weather forecast in Yellowstone for upcoming 10 days. Hopeless…
